Sometimes the Deucecast guys -- Mikey and Dave -- like to try to class the place up by bringing in orthopedic surgeon and Nobel Prize for Medicine Nominee #TwitterlessDr Earl... and when that doesn't work, they bring in someone actually important.

First up, the birthday movies for September! Wicker Park (the beeeeessss!!) and Shawshank (Get busy livin or get busy podcastin') and Gone Girl and even a Bugs Bunny movie, and then, first time guest KB Hoyle joins the show.

K.B. Hoyle, award winning author of "The Gateway Chronicles" book series as well as the Breeder Cycle, answers questions about the publishing industry, movie favorites and reveals her fangirl status over Lord of the Rings and the like.

The crew reveals their top five movie adaptations of favorite books, including novels by Stephen King and John Grisham, classics about Mockingbirds and Cupboards, Hitchhikers Guides, lots of Jane Austen (and who is the best Mr Darcy), and much more.  Plus a great discussion on what is right and wrong about Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter books and movies.

Episode 395: It's all Relative

Sometimes you just need family, and when its the family in the movies, its even better.  Mikey, Dave and #TwitterlessDrEarl tackle the topic of relatives in movies... but to get an expert word on it, two people who excel at being father and son -- Scotty Ryfun and Garrison, the Spawn of Ryfun, also known as the Pride of Tifton Georgia!

But first, birthday movies!  Checking out the movies that released in August in 2014 (Birdman!), 2009, 2004 and on and on back, all the way until 55 years ago, when Mary Poppins came out.

A rousing game of Denzel with all the guys, and then a great top five list filled with movies that feature actors and actresses that are blood relative... Sheens!  Cusacks!  Bridges!  Wilsons!  Branaugh and Thompsons... wait, what?

Ryfun puts his own spin on the list itself, as #TwitterlessDrEarl cannibalizes Dave's list, and Mikey desperately searches for any relative of Kevin Costner who was in the same movie so Mikey can make that one movie his entire list.

Episode 394: The 2019 Fall Movie Preview

Football has started, the doldrums of the August cinema, and other than the 110 degree weather, Fall is in the air.  And Mikey, Dave and #TwitterlessDrEarl are in the Deucecast Studio to share all the great films coming in the next few months.

Brad Pitt has a new space movie... J-Lo has a weird dancer heist film... the creepy clown in It... John Rambo gets a final bow... as does (hopefully) John Connor and the Terminator... Tom Hanks wears a cardigan... Joaquin Phoenix new role gives Mikey the tizzies... Renee Zellweger looks over the rainbow for that next Oscar... Angelina Jolie looks to the evil for that next Deucie nomination... what the heck is a Jojo Rabbit?... Dave gets excited for the Shining sequel... Earl and the Charlies Angels... and what film has no chance of any of the guys seeing in the theater?
