Episode 327: Sci Fi Fantasy Films of This Century
It's a couple of guys who keep their heads in the clouds and gaze at the stars, so it's only fitting that Dave and Mikey discuss Fantasy and Science Fiction films. But since #Twitterless Dr Earl can't be found (he's doing a lint removal procedure from the naval of poor kids in Long Island), who better to invite onto the show than the TechnoRetro Dads themselves, Shazbazzar and Jedi Shuuuuuuuuaaaaahhhhhh....
And the gang jumps right in, counting off their lists of what they consider to be their favorite fantasy/sci-fi films of this century... that's really anything released on January 1st, 2000, until... well, you know, today. Or the day of the recording, anyway.
The TRD's also give their take on "Ready Player One" before diving into the Top Ten, then the guys discuss at length -- and at depth -- the legacy and their adoration of films like "Children of Men" and the newest "Star Trek" and newer "Star Wars" films and Shaz defends "John Carter" while Dave defends "Lady in the Water".
Its a great two hours of sci fi fantasy fun and movie love!

Episode 326: Weddings in Movies
Another edition of The Deucecast Movie Show walks down the podcasting aisle, with Mikey and Dave inviting in The Long Intro-less, Twitterless Dr Earl. Because Producer Shawn finally got hitched recently, the crew thought it would be fun to talk weddings in movies, both full films and scenes too.
What better way to do that than to invite in the Delightful Jennifer Kaufman, courtesy of the Binder & Binder hotline.
And what better way to talk about wedding movies than to talk about... Kaufman's former podcast The Delightful Life, local soccer teams, soccer rules, hockey rules and more, including a quick debate on the pros & cons of the hockey shootout.
A new game premieres this episode, a game called "Bridget, Michelle or Kate"... who was in the movies called out?
Moving onto weddings, Dave, Kaufman and Mikey share their quick wedding stories (while Twitterless Dr Earl takes a nap), then onto the Top Five Movie Weddings. From The Muppets Take Manhattan to Bridesmaids to Spaceballs to My Best Friends Wedding and more, the DCMS celebrates movie nuptials and more.

Garrison saying "I haven't seen that" an awful lot... The Ron Kovic dilemma... and lots and lots of shirtless, sweaty volleyball.
And an Emilio Estevez sighting!

Episode 318: The Denzel Sweet 16
The Greatest Role Ever preliminary tournament rolls on, this time featuring Denzel Washington. And what better way to do a Sweet 16 than to bring on Michigan's Finest, host of the Remodeling Clay Podcast Clay Shaver!
The show kicks off with a great round of, what else, The Denzel Game, and joining the crew a few minutes in, Friend of the Show, Wit Stillman Fan, Lover of Brie (Allison, Larsen & the cheese), Terrance Malick Apologist, Film Historian and Remover of Eyeworms, The Estimable Twitterless Dr. Earl.
Then, onto the tournament, where the greatest Denzel Movie Roles are matched up against each other, as they are whittled down until the best Denzel Cinematic Performance remains.
A play in game sees Denzel in Courage Under Fire taking on Denzel in A Soldier's Story, for that chance to take on Denzel in
Then, its Playa to Playa, Pimp to Pimp as you'll hear about Denzel in Philadelphia, Denzel in Glory, Denzel in The Hurricane, Denzel in He Got Game... and much, much more.
Plus, Remodeling Clay makes more terrible decisions in who he leaves out of the bracket.

Episode 317: Recent Fave Docs
Mikey and Dave are back in the studio, inviting in Friend of the Show, Wit Stillman Fan, Lover of Brie (Allison, Larsen & the cheese), Terrence Malick Apologist, Film Historian and Nobel Prize of Medicine Nominee for Thuganomics, The Estimable Twitterless Dr. Earl. And back on the Binder & Binder Hotline, good friend of the show and Remodeling Clay Podcast host Remodeling Clay Shaver!
First up, a few birthday movies, with mentions of classics like "Sommersby", "Definitely, Maybe" and "Cradle 2 Tha Grave" and then a gross use of the term "chicken finger"
Another round of Word Up! takes place, with thoughts on a new Joker film, the Solo trailer and the Marvel 10th Anniversary picture.
If you look back into The Deucecast Movie Show's archives, you'll find Top Ten Documentaries back in Episode 183 and 184 (July 2015). Since then, a plethora of docs have come out, and the guys take a look at some of their favorites released since then and in recent memory.
Shying away from the ones frequently discussed -- "Tickled", "Weiner", "Dear Zachary", etc -- other documentaries surface and resurface, with subjects like Gilbert Gottfried and Nic Cage as Superman and Tower Records and The Beatles and Steven Spielberg and chickens and chicken fingers and racism and volcanoes, Werner Herzog style.
Also, the power of nostalgia and Caddyshack.

Episode 316: ReFlicktions, Nominations & The Burgeler
Mikey and Dave kick off the show by not only introducing Friend of the Show, Wit Stillman Fan, Lover of Brie (Allison, Larsen & the cheese), Terrence Malick Apologist, Film Historian and Nobel Prize of Medicine Nominee of Clinical Skin Abrasion, The Estimable Twitterless Dr. Earl, but also on the Binder & Binder Hotline, the guys welcome in Mr Independent Jeremy Burgess.
Burgess gives us the first real addition of "The Burgeler" (its Burge-Ler, not Burgel-er, by the way), where like the departed "Valentine's Pink" from year's past, Burgess gives his review of four films assigned to him by the guys in The Deucecast Movie Show. Movies include "Strictly Ballroom" (assigned by Dave)... "Harold & Maude" (assigned by Friend of the Show Remodeling Clay Shaver)... "Broadcast News" (assigned by Dr. Earl)... and "The Fountain" (forced upon Burgess by Mikey).
Then, to the ReFlicktions, where the guys talked about such frivolity as Dr Earl's medical rage... Remodeling Clay's ego for winning all of these things... Sam Rockwell's fine line... Margot Robbie looking too good for her movie... the American Treasure Wes Studi... Dave and Earl discuss racism uncomfortability... the argument for/against the "show movies in theaters for Oscar consideration" rules... and when Mikey doesn't pay attention...
Plus, sprinkled throughout the show are the nominations for the 5th Annual Deucie Awards!
Movies Discussed include: The Fountain... Strictly Ballroom... Broadcast News... Harold & Maude... Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri... The Shape of Water... I Tonya... The Disaster Artist... The Phantom Thread... Hostiles.... Mr. Roosevelt... Columbus... Get Out... Happy Death Day... Mudbound... Icarus... A Futile & Stupid Gesture... Brawl in Cell Block 99... Paddington 2... Ingrid Goes West... One of Us... Miss Sloane... Molly's Game... Pilgrimage... The Lost City of Z... Rough Night... Barista... The Post... The Darkest Hour... Deuce Team back again, check it to wreck it, let's begin! For another movie filled episode of The Deucecast Movie Show, as Dave and Mikey welcome back Friend of the Show, Wit Stillman Fan, Lover of Brie (Allison, Larsen & the cheese), Terrence Malick Apologist, Film Historian, and Nobel Prize of Medicine Nominee for his work in toejam fungus, The Estimable Twitterless Dr. Earl.
And the guys also welcome back to the show our own Disney Diva, and co host of the Divas Dish Diz and Amish Paradiser Jennifer Novotny!

Then, a quick Coco review, a round up of Disney vacations and Disney restaurants.
Then onto the topic... The best movies 90 minutes or less. Some of the films come in just under the wire, like "Office Space" and "Stand By Me", others clear it by a lot, like "The Rescuers", "The King of Kong" and "Winnie the Pooh".

Episode 314: The Oscar Nominees Are...
It's what The Deucecast Movie Show considers it's "Super Bowl", the Academy Awards. Which we all know is really a prelude to the 5th Annual Deucies, coming up later this year.
But first, Mikey and Dave welcome in Friend of the Show, Wit Stillman Fan, Lover of Brie (Allison, Larsen & the cheese), Terrence Malick Apologist, Film Historian, and Nobel Prize of Medicine Nominee for his work in belly button aesthetics, The Estimable Twitterless Dr. Earl.
After a quick (?) game of Rotten Tomatoes Potpourri, Oscar style, Dave, Mikey and Earl go category by category, making early predictions, plus a discussion on the Oscar favorites and why Hollywood may go for "warm and fuzzy" rather than "gritty and harsh" this year.

Take another amazing excursion into movie podcasting excellence... and when you are done with that ride, then come on and listen to this episode of The Deucecast Movie Show!
Mikey and Dave hold down the fort, with all Friends of the Show doing other things, as they bring the best films they watched in 2017 that weren't actually from 2017.
First up, a little See This, Not That, where the guys tell you what Kevin Costner films to see and which ones to avoid... which Time Travel movies to catch and which to skip... what M Night Shymalala flicks you need to make time for and which ones you never have to watch... and what Matt Damon cinematic experiences to experience and what Matt Damon cinematic experiences you can forego experiencing.
Then Friend of the Show Jeremy Burgess calls into the show randomly, as the show introduces the replacement for the annual Valentine's Pink... The Deucecast Movie Show presents Burgentine's Day, assigning him some romantic films... plus the first appearance of The Girl's Next Door's "Slow Boat to China" (from 1986, not 1988, by the way)... including the film known as "The Australian Dirty Dancing"
And then, the top ten films that were seen last year by Dave and Mikey, but not films that were actually from 2017. Some older movies like Arthur and Blade Runner and High Noon and newer films like Magnificent Seven and Captain Fantastic and Gone Baby Gone and much more.
